Nature and Scope Emphasis in this position is on ensuring customer service for bagging of groceries in the proper manner, collection of carts from parking lot in a safe manner and ensuring safe and clean store conditions.
This position requires ongoing heavy lifting and pushing, walking, exposure to outside conditions and wet surfaces, use of cleaning equipment, social skills/verbal interaction and judgment/decision making.
Position functions and work hours may vary according to business needs.
Essential Position Functions Ensures customer service for bagging of groceries - asks if paper or plastic - uses the least amount of bags - watches the weight of the bag Maintains proper floor conditions - Maintains a clean and dry sales floor at all times - Answers all clean up calls promptly - Cleans up messes and spills promptly and thoroughly Assists customers with questions - Answers questions or assists customers with product location - Refers customers to the proper area or individual for help - Assists customers with bagging and carrying out groceries (parcel pick-up) Performs other miscellaneous duties - Cleans front-end - Stocks bags at end of registers - Does shop backs Follows all store and department policies and procedures Functional Requirements Frequent:
Physical - lifting/carrying 50 to 100 lbs.

, equipment operation (carts, mop, broom, dust mop, scraper, compactor, bags, cleaning utensils), stooping/bending, reaching, walking, turning, kneeling.
